Job Title: Junior Sales & Account Manager
Sector: Chemicals / Oil
Location: North West based
We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive, self motivated, driven individual with at least 3 years commercial sales experience to join a leading global specialty chemical manufacturer and distributor here in the North West. Working closely with the Commercial Manager you will be responsible forexisting accounts throughout the UK and Ireland whilst actively identifying new sales and business development opportunities to achieve agreed sales targets and maximize profitability.
Typically your experience will be from the chemicals or oil industry, you will have a flexible approach to business travel, excellent time management skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and manage client relationships on all levels both technically and commercially.
- Identify opportunities for new product sales whilst at the same time retaining and growing existing business.
- Understanding the markets in which customers are operating with a view to introducing new products where possible.
- Development and management of a sales strategies
- Regular reporting on sales activity/results.
- Present product offerings and services to all stakeholders, including customers.
- Develop effective and productive relationships with key internal personnel.
- Identify gaps in the customer portfolio and effectively align any offers for the customer.
- Territory Management.
- Prioritise workload to maximise business opportunities.
- Develop new customers in identified target markets, or for identified target products.
- Maximise training offered of a technical nature for products and applications.
- Establish technical contacts at customers and understand the use of those products.
- Work closely with technical departments to identify potential new applications.
Key Skills / Attributes:
- Relevant degree qualification or educated to at least A level standard.
- Circa 3-6 years experience in B2B sales and account management from the chemical or oil industry.
- Some experience in business and database management and working closely with stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy in presenting and reporting.
- Ability to identify and understand customer needs within a technical environment.
- Ability to plan workload according to sales targets within a large geographical area.
- A general knowledge of the oils, additives or chemicals industry;
- Good time management, reporting, and planning skills
- A motivated and driven personality with a technical mindset
- A good working knowledge of MS office applications, including experience in powerpoint presentation development and delivery and Excel spreadsheets
- Ability to recognise sales opportunities and act effectively to increase business.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Must hold full driving license.
- Strong work ethic with an independent motivation to Learn and develop.
