The Security Architect Digital role is based within IT Security within HSBC Operating Services and Technologies (HOST).

The role of the Security Architect Digital is responsible for delivery of a number of global Security Architecture projects. The job holder leads the design and development of architectures, which are aligned with group standards, IT and business strategy, meet business objectives and satisfy all relevant regulatory and operational risk controls. The IT Security Architect may work across either the Enterprise, Technical, Data or Solutions Architecture disciplines.

Your responsibilities will include:
Influential in the continued development of architecture standards. Acts as a subject matter expert, contributes to the development of group standards and identifies and implements new practices, processes and technologies where required. Instrumental in the design and delivery of architectures for business solutions through the solutions design process, focusing mainly on medium or multiple architecture projects. Ensures that non-functional requirements are clearly understood, rationale for holistic design & its components are provided, designs are peer reviewed and endorsed by the appropriate Solutions Architecture Board (SAB). Introduce new techniques, products, services, technologies and standards where needed against identified use cases, via the Technology Design Board (TDB) & Technology Catalogue Board (TCB). Provide expert-level understanding of appropriate group business systems, their associated requirements and technology usage. Stay abreast of technology trends and advise IT and the business about potential benefits, impacts. Provide a consultancy role to IT and business teams where appropriate. Where appropriate, provide full architectural life cycle guidance to business and IT teams and ensure quality technical deliverables. Customer focus - improves customer service, effectively engages customers, colleagues and stakeholders to build a trust-based relationship and deliver a connected service. Keeps up to date with HSBC strategy and external trends, using the information to enhance customer service. Strengthening stakeholder relationships, builds relationships. Uses organisational knowledge and contacts to help stakeholders like HSBC Operating Services and Technologies (HOST) Managers & Architects, HOST IT Domain Leads and Security Fraud and Risk (SFR) Information Security Risk Managers maximise networking opportunities, uses relationship management skills, tools to responsibly influence decisions and stakeholder advocacy. Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets. Actively promote the benefits of architecture, accepted best practice techniques, standards and tools to other areas of the group and external suppliers where necessary. Ensure that the highest level of quality is provided for all activities and products. Mentor and coach less experienced members of staff and promotes an understanding of the value of architecture and of use of technologies and standards in their domain across IT. Perform architecture reviews on aligned global business, global function systems and ensure both appropriate peer review and Solution Architecture Board (SAB) endorsement is obtained. Ensure that any new technology products are taken through the Technology Design Board (TDB) clear choice, proof of concept. Ensure that all existing, new service patterns, deployments guides are taken through the Technology Catalogue Board (TCB). Adhere to ever greening priorities for global business/global functions. Ensure compliance with all relevant internal instructions (FIMs, GSMs, circulars) and external regulatory requirements, including the management of operational risk and adherence to the group's standards of ethical behaviour.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Container technologies (any of Docker, Garden, Pivotal Cloud Foundary, Kubernetes) Experience working in relevant environments, i.e. Application architecture, development, engineering

Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Security Architecture Past working experience on relevant systems, i.e. Cloud platforms (any of AWS, GCP, Azure) Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Forge Rock Open AM, Active Directory is desirable but not essential Experience working in relevant environments, i.e. DevOps is desirable but not essential Experience working in relevant market/, ontext, i.e. Financial is desirable but not essential Role relevant qualifications, i.e. CISSP is desirable but not essential Past working experience on relevant systems, i.e. Big data, mobile, systems using Oauth and Open ID Connect, PKI, 2FA is desirable but not essential A track record of delivering significant change which improves business effectiveness in sustainable ways Set and achieved challenging short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in their field Self-awareness with confidence to work independently and take responsibility for own development Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences Built effective networks both internally and externally and created opportunities for others to work collaboratively Planned projects and activities systematically in line with business priorities, using a variety of analysis and problem solving techniques A comprehensive understanding of the regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements associated with financial services and experience of working within these
