Multi Skilled Maintenance Shift Engineer

Multi-skilled Engineer (Electrical bias), Manchester, Food Manufacturing

We are recruiting for a Shift Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) on behalf of a food manufacturing company based in Manchester. They are looking for experienced Engineers to ensure that all plant and equipment on site is available and ready to meet manufacturing plans.

The Company have recently invested in brand-new, high-spec machinery and are looking to deliver an ambitious Engineering Strategy.

Responsibilities Include:

• Creating a safe and great place of work adhering to H&S, Food Safety and GMP standards.
• To assist in achieving maximum production efficiency, by using a pro-active approach in preventative / predictive maintenance techniques
• To keep downtime to a minimum by effectively dealing with breakdowns as and when they occur
• To carry out all types of engineering installations including; electrical, mechanical, fabrication, plumbing, pipe work
• To fault find using PLC's
• To make alterations and suggestions for Continuous Improvement
• To provide drawings, measurements & specifications of spares required
• To comply and assist with all technical and HACCP requirements to ensure the best product quality
• To input records of all work carried out into the Computerised Maintenance Management System
• To guide the Engineering Apprentice in all aspects of engineering
• To supervise contractor activity in the absence of the Engineering manager

The Ideal Candidate:

• HNC / Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
• 17th Edition Wiring Regulations
• Food manufacturing background ideally
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures
• Proven record of delivering business targets

Shift Pattern: Continental 4 on 4 off
