My client a large international aerospace company based in Gloucester are seeking a Test Rig Support Engineer.

As the Test Rig Support Engineer you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and related support of existing production test rigs solutions used to test hydraulic based aerospace products. Also responsible for supporting the introduction/development/commissioning of new or upgraded test rigs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

As the Test Rig Support Engineer you will provide maintenance and preventative maintenance actions to maximise the uptime of automated and manual production test rigs.
Ensure configuration control and documentation of rigs in relation to repairs, upgrades, and component replacement activities.
Establish and maintain the required rig spares provisioning for production and development test rigs.
Support the development and commissioning of new or upgraded test rigs.

Job Requirements, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
Significant experience in the maintenance of hydraulic based, automated test rigs used for the testing of high integrity products.
Some experience in the testing of hydro-mechanical products used in an aerospace environment, such as control valves and actuators.
Ability to operate, understand, and trouble-shoot hydraulic test rigs and associated controlling systems to ensure on-going availability and reliability of test rigs to support production testing.
Good understanding of and significant experience in trouble-shooting and maintaining hydraulic circuits and associated components used in high pressure (5000PSI) hydraulic testing applications.
Good understanding of and significant experience in trouble-shooting and maintaining electronic/software based test rig control systems. Experience of LabVIEW software to develop simple set up and measure type test programmes using standard input and outputs.
Strong structured root cause investigation/problem solving skills
Able to manage own workload and priorities with strong focus on meeting delivery commitments
Good understanding of the use, application and operation of test rig instrumentation, such as flow meters, pressure gauges, LVDT or RVDT based sensors, etc.
