Design Engineer

Established manufacturer with extensive experience in the design of process equipment, are expanding within their design team and require a Design Engineer. This is a permanent position, negotiable on salary.

Key Duties:

As a member of the Design team, the successful candidate will provide engineering expertise and support in the development of existing and new products. Duties will include:

• Daily and overall Project Engineering duties
• To liaise with various departments to ensure that any new projects are transferred to Engineering and aligned with the customer requirements
• When required act as a point of contact for customers' engineers
• Developing designs to full prototype, pre-production and series production levels, using Solidworks
• Produce detail drawings, bills of materials, part lists etc.
• To liaise with Manufacturing Engineers and the Production Department to ensure that any processes introduced meet customer requirements
• To provide problem solving support to manufacturing and R&D departments
• To manage the development and distribution of Engineering product documentation
• To write test procedures to ensure product meets customer expectations

Qualifications/Requirements:

As part of a growing Engineering department, candidates should have/be:

• Ideally possess a mechanical engineering degree at MSc, MEng or BEng level
• Expert 3D Solidworks knowledge
• Confident, Self-motivated, enthusiastic, able to work effectively as part of a team and possess good communication skills
