A Submarine Technical Author with electrical experience is required to work on a three month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Cumbria

This is a 3 month contract working with a leading UK defence company.

Overview of the Submarine Technical Author contract role

As the Submarine Electrical Technical Author's role you'll be responsible for updating electrical related workmanship documents in support of submarine replacement programmes. This role will work with electrical subject matter experts across the Programme, Operations, Engineering and Quality functions to produce technical documentation and processes, enabling the Operations teams to manufacture and construct against engineering design and the relevant quality standards.

Key skills required for the Submarine Technical Author

• Demonstration of technical writing skills.
• Ability to extract technical information from design based data to write detailed standards and manufacturing instructions.
• Ability to effectively communicate across stakeholder groups.
• Ability to problem solve and interpret complex information.
• Must have electrical technical author experience. Ideally worked within the marine sector, especially Submarines, although the candidate requires an electrical background.

The role is based in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria - commutable from Carnforth, Milnthorpe, Lancaster, Morecambe, Penrith, Workington, Whitehaven and The Lake District
