Production Planner
We are currently looking to recruit a Production Planner ideally with experience in planning a complex manufacturing process to come and join us on a permanent basis, this role will be involved with planning production as part of a team of planners as well as being involved in a business wide project to make Aesica a class A supply chain business. We ideally would like candidates that have experience of working with SAP however this is all part of the project so training can be provided for the right candidate. We do need at least 3 year's experience working in a production planner role and a passion for best practice.
Main Purpose of the Job
• The Supply Chain Planner is at the centre of internal and external interfaces between plant operations and external customers; and a significant level of both internal and external communication is required
• To ensure optimum levels of service to external customers and internal stakeholders by:
- Ensuring customer focused, capacity and material feasible production schedules are generated and maintained at all times
- Liaising with cross functional teams on site to ensure effective provision and monitoring of production schedules
- Communicating effectively orally / electronically / in writing and in person with external customers as needed providing timely status updates and query resolution
• To analyse the bulk and pack capacity requirements where appropriate on receipt of new planned orders each month and provide recommendations to the Supply Chain Manager to ensure demand and supply are balanced
• To finite schedule new planned orders and produce a load levelled plan each week for the bulk and packaging departments that meets customer's requirements and respects the demonstrated capacity of each work-centre.
• To interface with production, quality and shipping departments to ensure issues are addressed
• To release process orders and generate batch documentation in a timely manner
• To deputise for the Supply Chain Manager in appropriate forums
Skills / Competencies required
• 3-5 years regulated industry experience in production planning and scheduling.
• High ERP knowledge, ideally SAP literacy and familiarity
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A high level of competency in Microsoft Office
• Is analytically minded with problem solving skills and demonstrates a "can-do" attitude
• An effective team member who can pro-actively identify and resolve planning problems efficiently
• A good appreciation of Lean and Continuous Improvement thinking
