An exciting role has arisen for a Production Test Engineer to join a multi-national, well-known company based in Bolton for an initial 6 months basis. The successful engineer will be responsible for production test and diagnostics of complex weapons at system and subsystem level. The engineer will test complex electronic equipment as well as analyse production test failures down to component level.
The candidate will be required to be able to obtain a SC UK security clearance.
The candidate would be tasked to:
*Identify corrective action in a timely manner enabling manufacturing to continue production in line with programme.
*Offer technical support to test operators to facilitate the efficient quantity of prime hardware during production.
*Assess related test equipment issues so that they can direct support services to resolve equipment failures.
*Evaluate technical problems in order to develop proposals for investigations and corrective actions, including process improvements.
*Represent the test engineering department at defect review board meetings to ensure efficient progress of equipment and quality notifications towards corrective action.
The Test Engineer will have superior knowledge of digital and analogue electronics manufacture and test, as well as have an understanding of measurement and test principles and equipment. An understanding of RF and microwave technology at subsystem level would be key, along with great attention to detail and strong analytical and problem solving skills.
