PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The post holder will be responsible for a caseload of work-based professional competence candidates and will plan and carry out assessment against National Occupational Standards, Trailblazer Standards ensuring candidates achieve within given time frames.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To support apprentices during induction and their programme to successfully achieve their apprenticeship and progress in employment or sign post onwards if necessary.
Visiting candidates in the workplace, coaching and assessing them against selected standard to successful outcome against set targets
Prepare, agree and review assessment plans with each candidate. Create candidate portfolios including selecting agreed framework paths.
Physically visit candidates at least twice within 12-month apprenticeship period to provide support, prepare Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), undertake assessments and provide feedback on performance. Contact candidates on a monthly basis to discuss programme progress. Use other mediums of contact, i.e. Skype, Lync, Yammer, email, telephone etc. to maintain regular communication
Efficient and effective operation of the assessment process in line with the Firebrand
Training's apprenticeship quality systems and the requirements of the awarding body.
Prepare, agree and review Learner and Assessment Records (LARs) every 10 weeks ensuring all party involvement.
Manage and maintain candidates folders in line with audit requirements.
Assist with development of provision where necessary to ensure programme is updated constantly.
Coordinate training schedule in line with Firebrand policy
Internal verification of Firebrand apprentices.
?? Liaise with Instructor during training weeks to ensure candidates needs are met.
Ensure both Health & Safety and Equal Opportunity policies are complied with and all candidates are given fair access to assessment.
Participate in and support the annual self-assessment process
Attend and participate in team meetings, standardisation meetings as required.
Maintain Continued Professional Development (CPD) record, minimum of 30 hours (pro rata)
Ensure responsibility is taken to safeguard and promote the welfare of candidates with whom you come into contact.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Qualifications: Essential
Level 3 qualification or equivalent
D32/D33 or A1 qualification
Relevant job-related training or qualification indicating level of competence
Full driving license
Qualifications: Desirable
Level 4 qualification or equivalent
V1 qualification
IAG Level 3 qualification
Experience and knowledge: Essential
Good verbal and written skills
Proven track record of meeting targets
Experience working in the training / education sector
Experience within an assessing role
Knowledge of Professional Competence qualifications and Code of Practice requirements
Experience and knowledge: Desirable
An understanding of SFA funding streams
Personal attributes

High level of presentation skills
