KPJ Group have an opening for a Machine Shop Production Engineer to be responsible for data capture to ensure BoM's and MoM's are correct and reflect the true cost of production and ensure that materials and parts are moved correctly throughout the factory. It will be your duty to identify process improvements and the smooth introduction of new processes for existing & new products.
Duties & Responsibilities as a Machine Shop production Engineer:
Process
- Maintaining data integrity in ERP system
- Assist with the implementation of new processes
- Analyse and input standard cycle times to the ERP system
- Monitor and ensure standard times and quality levels are achieved. Ensure root causes of quality issues are highlighted and the necessary steps are taken to avoid future issues
New Product Introduction
- Ensure that proper documentation is in place for any new jobs
- Provide Design for Manufacturing (DFM) input
- Identify & implement manufacturing & test methods to introduce new products
Health and Safety
- Comply with Company H&S procedures & legislation at all times
- Identify & implement safety procedures & documentation to comply with current legislation (operating instructions, maintenance records etc.)
- Produce risk assessments for processes
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree/HND/HNC level or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline
- 5 years Production Engineering in a machine shop/mechanical environment
- Experience with basic metrology equipment
- Process improvement techniques
- Use of Poka Yoke techniques for error prevention
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment
- Lean manufacturing techniques
- Use of method & production instructions
- ISO9001 & Health & Safety
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
- CMM programming and operation
- Part Marking LASER programming and operation
- BSc or Higher in a relevant Engineering discipline
Salary is up to GBP30k p/a dependent on experience
37.5 hours a week (8am-4:30pm Mon- Thur and Friday 8am-1:30pm)
