Environmental Officer
Wolf Minerals (UK) Ltd continue to develop their flagship Tungsten mining project North of Plymouth and this has led to a fantastic opportunity for an Environmental Officer to join the team.
The Role
The successful appointee will join a dynamic team that is critical to the ongoing success of the project as a whole. The Environmental team take responsibility for ensuring that all staff are aware of and meeting statutory planning requirements, compliance standards are maintained and that the local environment is conserved alongside successful mining operations.
The Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will need to hold a relevant Environmental Sciences or Engineering degree and ideally be able to demonstrate experience in a Mineral Processing or Chemical Manufacturing setting. Owing to the demands of the role, you will need to be self-disciplined, able to manage your own workload and prioritise tasks in order to meet goals and deadlines while achieving the required KPIs. Comfortable with computer systems as well as handling and interpreting data, you will be responsible for gathering, logging, interpreting and ultimately reporting various data to strict deadlines.
With such a large mining operation and such a varied set of challenges, this position offers an exciting challenge, with many aspects of the operation requiring strict monitoring to ensure that environmental impact is managed. You will need to demonstrate knowledge of at least two of the following:
* Water Monitoring programmes and equipment
* Noise and Vibration
* Radioactivity NORM monitoring
* Stack emissions
* Waste
* Dust
* ISO 14001/EMS Management
This role will require an outgoing and confident approach, as if successful, you will be required to train and enable Wolf Minerals Management to meet environmental targets and limits, work alongside external consultants to achieve goals and also champion the company's Environmental Management System when meeting with external parties.
