Position: Support Worker
Location: Maidenhead, Berkshire
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: GBP8.24 per hour
Benefits: Enhancements for Bank Holidays, additional payment for Sleep Ins where required, 28 days annual leave (increasing with service) inclusive of bank holidays (pro rata for part time staff), contributory pension scheme, excellent training and development opportunities, childcare vouchers, employee assistance scheme and occupational health support.

The role of a Support Worker with Affinity Trust involves supporting each person to live the life they want within the community in which they live, to build positive relationships and to reach their potential.

The people you will be supporting enjoy taking part in a variety of activities and hobbies and you will be supporting them to access these as well as looking for other opportunities people may like to try.

About You:

As part of your role you will be supporting people with full and sometimes intimate personal care, so they are looking for people who are able to demonstrate dignity and respect for the individuals they are supporting, whilst promoting independence.

You will need to have excellent communication and be able to use a range of skills to support people who may have little or no verbal communication, to enable them to actively participate in choices about their life.

You will need to work flexibly and participate in shift work, including weekends and Bank holidays.
For this role you need to be patient, have good sense of humour and be able to support people through good and bad days. They are looking for people who are committed to supporting the people they work with, who are honest and reliable, who can be creative and flexible in their approach, enhancing people`s opportunities to grow and develop.
