We are a global engineering company specialising in the design, development and manufacture of aerospace products and systems. Due to continued growth we have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our highly motivated team.
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will manage the team to address the needs of the business and promote a spirit of business excellence. You will actively identify improvement activities and promote a culture of continuous improvement through the use of lean tools. You will activity priorities between team members and ensure that projects are managed to a timely, successful conclusion and balanced with the need to maintain productivity and manufacturing output. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will support the Operations Manager to establish and implement a strategy to improve the manufacturing equipment, processes and procedures to meet the long term needs of the business
Responsibilities:
*Personally take lead of key Business Improvement initiatives
*Manage improvement initiatives being run by the team to ensure clear definition and a successful and timely completion of objective
*Use and promote Lean tools; 5S, Value stream mapping, Poke yoke, KanBan and others
*Implement corrective and preventative actions for route causes
*Guide and support other improvement leaders, where needed
*Establish and publish the team's KPIs
*Working with the Operations Manager, establish a plan or strategy to improve the machines, equipment and processes to meet the current and future needs of the business
*Management of team to ensure technical data is made available to the sales and PL team in a timely manner
*Management of costing information (parts and labour) to enable estimated manufacturing cost suitable for pricing decisions
