The CBSO is seeking an exceptional individual for the post of Director of Concerts. This is a senior position within one of the UK's leading arts organisations, and as such we are looking for an outstanding individual to join our senior management team.
The Director of Concerts will be responsible for all aspects of line management, recruitment, retention, and CPD for the CBSO's full-time musicians, and will work together with the Music Director, artistic leadership and Orchestra Manager to ensure that we maintain and improve this world-class orchestra.
You will also work with the Chief Executive and planning team on the future planning of the CBSO's
concert and touring activities as well as manage the library and platform teams. You will be a key figure in how we turn the CBSO's artistic vision into practice and take full responsibility for the day to day management of the orchestras busy schedule.
The ideal candidate will have experience of managing orchestral musicians, a detailed knowledge of the orchestral sector and repertoire, substantial budgeting capability and exceptional organisation and communication skills. Alongside these, the successful candidate will have the ability to empathise with the working life of a professional musician, creating the best environment to allow them to perform at the highest standards.
