Our client is an international manufacturing business and a global first tier supplier into the automotive industry.

They seek to strengthen their accounting team by appointing a Group Accountant to consolidate the financial performance of a number of their manufacturing sites.

Key responsibilities include:

Consolidate and report monthly financial statements (whilst the majority of our accounting will be according to UK GAAP, that for the holding business will have to be according to Swedish GAAP)
Prepare the consolidated monthly report that gets sent to the Board of Directors, in accordance with the Financial Reporting timetables that are in place
Full responsibility for annual report, monthly reports, budget and forecasts
Support 4 local sites with monthly closing and accounting guidance as required throughout the month and do follow ups
Report consolidated numbers twice a year to parent company
Full responsibility for Cognos - (our consolidation tool) including future development, maintenance and training of local controllers
Involvement/Coordination of audit process in the UK
Conduct internal audits to ensure that Financial processes are implemented consistently across the business
To engage in project work across the business in order to improve the overall performance

Person Overview:

Degree Qualified
Part or full qualified accountant (likely to be ACCA)
Likely to have joined one of the Top 3 Audit Houses as an Auditor and now looking for their first substantive client side role
Substantive exposure to accounting principles and practices
Highly numerate, with first rate analytical skills
Computer literate on Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Exposure to Cognos Controller, but it is a must that the person has experience of consolidation tools in general
Experience of auditing with manufacturing businesses
Work experience working within a manufacturing business would be advantageous
Flexible and able to travel to company businesses (and possibly international travel) will be required
Initial training will be conducted in Sweden so ability to travel will be necessary
