My client is a fast growing and successful sheet metal manufacturing company based in Leicester with clients across the UK and they are currently looking for an experienced quality controller that has experience of working to and implementing ISO 9001:2015 standards as this is a major part of the role. You need to be able to introduce, maintain and train people to standards. A background in sheet metal manufacture would be advantageous to the role.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Approve incoming materials be confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
2. Approve in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
3. Approve finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
4. Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarising re-work and waste; inputting data into a quality database.
5. Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calling for repairs and calibration of same.
6. Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
7. Update knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications
8. Accomplishes quality and organisation mission by completing related results as needed.
9. Manage processes to recognise errors, report on why errors have occurred, put procedures in place to prevent re-occurrence.
10. Maintain and oversee ISO 9001:2015 standards by ensuring all staff are aware of and adhere to standards in place.

Special Factors:

The nature of the work may involve the jobholder carrying out work outside of normal working hours.
To undertake the job in accordance with relevant legislative requirements, including health and safety.
To undertake training as required.
To work in accordance with my clients Code of Practice.

Salary:

Negotiable based on experience and dependant upon suitability for the role.
