Avionics Systems Engineer Permanent Southampton
My client is UK's only independent civil aircraft manufacturer, has been producing aircraft continuously for a period spanning six decades. The Company is also a defence contractor specialising in the integration, installation, test and trials of mission equipment
To produce technical support for the Military Technical Support Services Contract in the area of systems responsibility within the business Design Office.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Within your department:
To ensure compliance with the SPMAP contract for Technical Support Service (SPMAP/001) to maximise performance on behalf of the company
Delivery of the systems design activities.
Formulation of systems design policies and standards in compliance with all relevant airworthiness codes and practices.
Delivery of systems design inputs and outputs to the overall design output of the Design Office, in-line with customer specifications or approved Research and Development tasks.
Liaison with all other technical specialisations within the Design Office in order to produce coherent and comprehensive design solutions and packages.
Compilation of modification leaflets and associated reports relating to new design tasks.
Approve drawings, modifications and other appropriate Company documents within the scope of authority of their individual CVE approval, as promulgated in the Design Office Handbook.
Liaison with customers and Regulators on matters pertaining to systems design matters.
To analyse and decide on courses of action for DQFs, NCRs, Production Permits and Concessions relating to systems engineering.
To work in close co-operation with Production Engineering and Production Departments to ensure smooth implementation of design requirements.
To provide technical support and assistant to QA department staff, in relation to major fault finding and corrections, as required.
To represent systems design at meetings if required to do so.
Responsible for assisting with, and responding to, RFQs.
Not to endanger themselves or others by the use of unsafe working practices.
Any other duties commensurate with the tasks and responsibilities of the job.
