Principal Consultant (Cloud) - Edinburgh

ECS is now looking for an experienced Principal Consultant (Cloud) to join their team in Edinburgh. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for one of the fastest growing IT Consultancies in the UK and work on FTSE 100/250 scale projects.

Purpose of the role

Manages provision of consultancy services and/or management of a team of consultants. In own areas of expertise, provides advice and guidance to consultants and/or the client through involvement in the delivery of consultancy services. Engages with clients and maintains client relationships. Establishes agreements/contracts and manages completion and disengagement.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Improves and simplifies standards and procedures to address client requirements and opportunities.
• Assess core IT functions and improve alignment with strategic objectives.
• Propose and review programmes and initiatives for quick wins and longer term business improvement.
• Compile total cost of ownership and return on investment models for leading business cases.
• Leads complex and critical programmes, managing deliverables and risks throughout.
• Ensure persistent business value recognition via clear and constant senior stakeholder collaboration.

Essential Experience:

• Has led a large-scale cloud adoption programmes;
• Has in-depth experience of dealing with mainstream cloud service suppliers;
• Fully understands the dynamics of cloud model requirements/objectives;
• Has had direct exposure with large-scale cloud migration initiatives;
• Can form a business case based on traditional versus cloud model characteristics;
• Can form a business case based on existing versus cloud supplier characteristics; and is very comfortable working at enterprise-level programme leadership role.
