Senior / Principal Wastewater Process Engineer

Our UK Water Engineering group has long term framework agreements with several of the major water companies, the Environment Agency and the Canal & River Trust in England & Wales. We also work closely with construction and other design partners on these frameworks and major projects. We are involved in some of the UK's most complex and stimulating projects that are diverse and technically demanding, and we have an enviable reputation for the efficient delivery of these projects.
Requirements:
We are seeking to recruit a Principal Wastewater Process Engineer to be based from our Cardiff office, to play a key role in our established Water Processes Engineering team. To be considered, we are seeking candidates with the following credentials:
Minimum Academic Qualifications:
Relevant first degree recognised by the relevant industry association or institution
Desirable Academic Qualifications and Affiliations:
Chartered Engineer professional status, or equivalent
Desirable Experience:
Extensive wastewater and sludge treatment processes design experience, with either a water company, consultant or contractor) encompassing some or all of the following:Wastewater treatment processes - ie traditional and advanced activated sludge treatment, biofiltration RBCs, etc.
Wastewater sludge treatment processes - ie anaerobic digestion, thermal hydrolysis (including the CambiTHP process)
Supervision and management of a design team
Responsibility for the technical delivery of elements of large, complex projects
Duties & Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Associate Technical Director you will play a pivotal in the delivery of effective, innovative solutions and designs and providing technical support to our clients and delivery teams.
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Promote safety, health & environmental (SHE) good practice within the teamWork collaboratively with other design disciplines and project partners within an agreed engineering management environment to ensure the integration of the overall design or solutionOversee an agreed scope of work and the operational workload of a project team including sub-contractors, ensuring work are allocated appropriately and resources are fully utilisedManage the performance of team members and sub-contractors, identifying and ensuring the resolution of any issuesProvide technical advice to team members, to support them in their delivery on the project and in their professional developmentWhen appointed in the role of a Project Manager, manage the commercial aspects of the project (contract, invoicing, debt, client)Provide technical leadership at a project levelLiaise with clients and be able to present complex technical solutionsPerform other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by your manager
