An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Civil Engineer to join Dover Port.

This is truly an exciting time to be part of our growing organisation. The Dover Western Docks Revival Project, the single biggest investment undertaken by the Port, will create a purpose-built cargo and logistics facility at the Port, which currently handles up to £119 billion of UK trade each year.
As a Civil Engineer in the Engineering Division, you will assist the Team Leader in the project management, design and supervision of new Port related engineering works. This is an opportunity to take responsibility for the delivery of a wide variety of multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion in a busy Port environment.
Your key duties and responsibilities will be to:
- Prepare designs, contracts, specifications, drawings, risk and environmental assessments
- Act as Project Manager or Employer’s Agent in accordance with appropriate Conditions of Contract
- Assess contractors, consultants and suppliers against safety and quality competency criteria
- Liaise with architects, consultants and quantity surveyors appointed to take control of a project
- Manage activities to ensure contractual compliance
An ideal Civil Engineer will have the following skills and qualifications:
- BSc or MSc Civil Engineering design
- Experience of civil engineering design
- Experience of project management of civil engineering projects
- Thorough understanding of procurement of services and construction works
- Understanding of procurement of services and construction works
- Understanding of CDM Regulations
- Understanding of NEC3 contracts
