Our Client aims to accelerate the development of fusion energy by combining two emerging technologies - spherical tokamaks and high-temperature superconductors. The company was originally established in 2009 to design and develop small Spherical Tokamaks and compact fusion reactors for a range of applications. Since then, the strategy has evolved to prioritise building a pilot plant to exceed fusion energy breakeven.

Job Role:

Our Client is looking for an Operations and Stores Assistant to deal with managing incoming deliveries and general maintenance work across our sites.

Duties will include:

  • Receiving and processing incoming deliveries
  • Ensuring delivery notes are stored correctly so that departments are aware when goods have been received.
  • Load and unload deliveries and ensure they are stored correctly
  • Ensuring that stock is stored in the correct areas for projects
  • Perform general maintenance jobs across sites such as putting up shelves, putting furniture together, putting pictures up and similar tasks.
  • Collecting urgent items from local stores as required.
  • Dealing with the air conditioning, fire alarm and emergency lighting contracts
  • Ensuring that any instruction manuals that come with goods are put together in one place so they can be found
  • Perform operational checks including fuel levels for the generators, water levels for water cooling and gas levels and daily fork lift checks
  • To manage the inspection requirements of all lifting gear and organising Fork Lift truck MOT
  • Ensure that the operational sites are kept safe and tidy
  • Perform weekly fire alarm and fire exit checks and monthly emergency lighting tests/maintain the fire alarm book.
  • Assist the Health and Safety Manager, when required, with operations health and safety requirements.
  • Shipping goods and dealing with couriers.

  • Good computer skills

Skills and requirements:

Essential:

  • Full driving license
  • Experience of working in a similar role
  • Desirable:
  • Fork Lift License
