In order to achieve our dreams, we need talented people who are willing to learn and keen to be a part of our IT journey as we migrate to AWS cloud and implement DevOps practices alongside our IT Engineering teams.
We are looking for a talented AWS Cloud Engineer to join our DevOps team to support AWS infrastructure and tooling which underpins our Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery pipelines, enabling our IT Engineering Teams to develop and deploy code multiple times a day.
Applicants should have solid experience in working with AWS in large organisations, and an understanding of DevOps practices.
We strongly believe in developing talent internally and are willing to invest time to teach you DevOps processes and tooling if this is something you are hungry to learn.
What the AWS Cloud Engineer (IT Vacancies, Agile, Automation) will be doing
•You will design and build the infrastructure to support TUI UK's websites and supporting systems
•Be responsible for building and maintaining our infrastructure and supporting tools from development through to production
•You will design and maintain the CI/CD pipeline from start to finish
•Liaise with Engineering teams and drive projects forward in collaboration with other teams such as Security and QA
•We want a strong, open team of devops engineers, able to communicate new ideas and concepts to the rest of the engineering department, breaking down all siloes
•We want to promote the policy of having a full overview of all the environments from dev through to prod, in easy-to-read dashboards and full data views
•We want to remove human error from the equation of our development process and ensure as many processes as possible are idempotent and reliable.
•We want to push ourselves to create the engineering resources we dream of, to allow the best service for our staff as possible.
•We want to create an environment that shares knowledge at high level but also to allow staff to delve as much as they want to into the details of our systems to encourage curiosity and growth.
•We want to ensure that if something goes wrong, we know exactly when, how and why it went wrong and can put our hands on the information in the minimal amount of time.
What we are looking for in a AWS Cloud Engineer (IT Vacancies, Agile, Automation)
•Great knowledge and experience working with AWS, auto-scaling, high availability, automating AWS resources
•Experience in configuration management apps like Ansible/Puppet/Chef
•Experience of CI systems, such as Jenkins, Teamcity, Circle CI etc.
•Experience of monitoring and logging solutions like Nagios, Datadog, Graphite, ELK stack, Splunk, Graylog, etc.
•Experience of infrastructure automation, Terraform, Vault, Consul etc
•Experience of networks, security, load balancers, DNS and other infrastructure components
•Experience of Agile development workflows
•You are hungry to develop knowledge around DevOps practices and tooling
•AWS Certifications would be desirable
•An interest in Container technology, e.g. Docker, Kubernetes etc. would be beneficial
