Sales Account Manager - Based in Cambridge

ParkerSteel is one of the largest steel distributors and processors in the UK, with a turnover in excess of £100 million and employing more than 500 people. The company is currently growing at an annual rate of 20% and a central part of this growth is maintaining an effective, efficient, motivated and happy workforce. With this in mind, an exciting role has arisen for a proactive, self-motivated individual to join our busy direct sales department as an Internal Accountant Manager based at our Waterbeach office.
You will be responsible for building and developing long-term relationships with assigned Accounts; connecting with key decision makers to ensure the success of enquiry conversion and maximising all opportunities.
Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):
• Operating as the first point of contact for all matters specific to your Customers requirements
• Up-selling of the Companies processing options and additional products
• Forecasting account business by building a pipeline of upcoming work
• Quickly develop general market knowledge and keep up to date with current trends
• Working to individual and team targets
Required Skills/ Experience:
Steel stockholding, Construction or allied Engineering background Knowledge of at least one of the following:
• Carbon/ Stainless steels or Aluminium
• Have excellent listening, communication and negotiation skills
• Be capable of overcoming Customer objections
• Previous use of programs including AS400, CRM & CAD would be an advantage
