Senior C++ Engineer

An opening has arisen for a Senior Engineer to join a great company specialising in cutting edge software development for next-generation wireless technologies. This role requires someone with strong high level C++ (some Java, or a willingness to pick this up is a bonus) to help develop and deliver cutting edge in-house tools to support both in house teams as well as licenced partners in configuring, developing, testing and debugging software.

The software and tools you'll create underpin code that features in millions of devices around the world. Working from lovely, modern offices in the heart of Cambridge, you'll be working alongside talented engineers in a very collaborative role/team

This would be a great opportunity for someone with a broad range of experience in modern C++ Engineering, perhaps with a bit of low level or Embedded experience, to work for a world leader in wireless technologies but at the same time encompass a wide enough range of functions across the core development teams to not be pushed into a niche bracket for future opportunities.

Overview of responsibilities:

. Develop, test and deliver new software of major scale and complexity to agreed times scales.
. Maintain and improve existing software.
. Investigate, debug and fix complex problems.
. Proactively help to identify record, prioritise and track requirements.
. Design solutions to meet requirements.
. Estimate effort and resources required to complete tasks.
. Conduct peer reviews (Design, Code, Test, and Documentation).

Required Skills:

. Appreciation of issues involved in debugging Embedded or Real Time systems.
. Excellent C++ (Java could be considered too).
. Linux development experience
. GIT

Bonus Skill:

. Android exposure.
. Windows development experience.
. Python or Perl Scripting.
. Understanding of wireless protocol stacks
