Interim Financial Controller

Weare retained to recruit on behalf of this exciting and dynamic Leeds based business. Operating in the Retail & Online sector, they sell luxury, high-end clothing products. With stores across the UK, together with their ecommerce business, overall turnover is cGBP17m. Reporting to the COO, you will manage and lead a team of 4, taking responsibility for all financial control elements of the business. This will include: Ensuring a robust control environment around all financial processes - some of which may require re-defining, particularly around Stock Accounting; Leading the budgeting and forecasting process; Monthly Management Accounts; Overseeing the ledgers/AP/AR/Payroll; Leading the year end audit and statutory accounting process. Experience from the retail sector is an essential requirement, as is experience of working capital management and having managed the cash cycle of a stock based business. It would prove advantageous if you possess experience with 3rd parties such as banks, HMRC and auditors, and have worked within a dynamic SME environment. This will best suit a strong character who will thrive working in a challenging and fast paced environment.
