Materials Buyer (Construction / Civil Engineering)

Do you have strong purchasing background within the construction / civil engineering sector? Do you have a proven background in dealing the provision of materials? Are you CIPS qualified, have strong negotiation skills and have the ability to liaise across multiple sites? What will you be doing?

Working within the buying team, you'll be responsible for:

Evaluating what materials are needed on site
Negotiate prices and service levels
Maintain quality standards
Inputting, ordering and checking invoices
Liaise across the business ensuring costings are accurate
Assist with tendering ensuring best possible rates
Provide monthly management information
Attend monthly meetings
Manage administration staff

What experience do you need?

To be successful in this role you'll already have purchasing experience within the construction / civil engineering sector, you will also need:

Excellent negotiation skills
Strong IT skills and the ability to use in house systems
An ability to work under pressure
Exceptional written and oral skills
CIPS qualification desirable

What are the pay and benefits?

An excellent salary is on offer for the role; benefits include pension; cash plan healthcare, childcare vouchers and parking. Holidays are 24 days per year (with an option to buy more) plus Bank Holidays.
