A leading manufacturing business based in Plymouth is seeking to appoint an Accounts assistant / Technician on a 6 month contract to support the plant controller. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a forward thinking and professional business.
Responsibilities
- Include preparing weekly and monthly performance reports, preparing budgets and forecasts.
- The reporting function comprises preparing and reporting on aspects of the Plant Cost Report and Outlook, and reporting on the Income statement and balance sheet and associated tasks such as ISR reports and sign-off.
- The budgeting and forecasting function comprises aspects of the planning process for the location(s) including PCR, Financial Statements, investment planning. It also covers as a substitute role for UK overhead reporting and planning.
- Responsible for assisting the Plant Controller with reporting and supporting projects to improve working capital (stocks, debtors, creditors etc)
- Responsibility for assisting with the monitoring and reporting of purchase price controlling.
- Assisting with the production of investment tracking reports and monitoring progress of planned investments
- Prepare various reports for production departments.
- Assisting with ad hoc credit management issues in conjunction with the Sales Controller.
- Acting in a substitute role for the role of the Costing Controller.
- Any other duties reasonably commensurate with the level of the post.
Qualifications
- You may be pursuing AAT, AAT qualified, studying ACCA, with ideally a background gained from a manufacturing environment.
- An excellent eye for accuracy and attention to detail
- A commitment to follow set procedures, systems and regulations taking ownership for tasks as well as working as part of a team
- Accounts payable/invoicing/accounts office experience preferred (minimum of 1 years)
- Experience of working in a fast moving environment.
