What you'll be doing

Your main responsibilities will be:
To work alongside skilled engineers in our depot workshops to learn all aspects of the maintenance, servicing and repairs to the fleet operated by Great Western Railway To learn how to service, repair and react to faults reported during operation of the fleet. You will attend college to achieve an NVQ level 3 Engineering qualification enhanced by in-depth company training on site at Great Western Railway. You will also undertake a National Certificate in Engineering and potentially a Higher National Certificate depending on results. You will be required to attend training courses at different locations from time to time. You will be expected to undertake a variety of Engineering tasks to enhance your skills, knowledge and experience to become our Engineers of the future. You will be a key part of the Engineering team and GWR team


Who we're looking for

You'll need to be:
Enthusiastic Good Hand Skills Reliable Able to think for yourself To work both as part of a team and under supervision A team player A willingness to learn. 16 years of age or over

As a minimum you'll need to have:
A*- C GCSE grades or equivalent in Maths, English, Science, plus two other related subjects. (I.C.T Preferred)

The salary for this role is as follows:

Year 1: GBP8,600

Year 2: GBP10,865

Year 3: GBP13,507

Year 4: GBP16,778
