Graduate Programmes Subject Matter Expert

Would you like a rewarding role, in which you really can make a difference? We currently have a vacancy for a Graduate Programmes SME which can be based at any UK BAE Systems site.

As a Graduate Programmes SME, you will manage the overall Graduate Development Framework, which involves the direct management of the HR and Sigma graduates and also includes the management of our work experience, internship and industrial placement programmes. The role also has the responsibility for the UK Graduate Developing You Programmes, to ensure that our learning is relevant, impactful and allows our Graduate populations to grow and develop the skills and mind-set that will be critical to them and the businesses/functions longer term.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to line manage all of the UK Sigma and HR programme participants and ensure that delegates of each are continuously learning and feel engaged and informed.


Your main responsibilities as a Graduate Programmes SME will involve:

General

Leading and reviewing of an integrated and inclusive graduate management service, in partnership with the HR Services team for Early careers and the GART (Graduate Recruitment) team.

Applying knowledge and expertise to business problems in order to support pragmatic and applicable Sigma and HR graduate rotations and assignments

Collaborating with the Central Learning team, to deliver state of the art and impactful development activities

Working with the wider teams, to look at an effective on boarding and exit experience and process

Collaborating with Resourcing COE, HRSS and GART teams to deliver effective resourcing solutions that provide diversity of our graduate populations, specifically focusing on Gender, Disability, Ethnic background and social mobility

Proactively partner with external organisations in order to understand and share industry market trends

Ensuring continuous improvement of graduate programmes through the identification and proposal (to appropriate Steering Groups) for best in class developments and process improvements

Driving the importance of Inclusion and Diversity into each of our Graduate programmes, so that we can make impact on the diversity of our company, via the early careers talent we attract and retain in the company

Supporting transition delivery and stakeholder engagement to ensure a smooth and effective transition of graduate programmes to corporate approaches and/or to the CoE

Leading the design of new solutions or products, in partnership with other CoEs, to support the successful evolution of the Graduate Programme


Your skills and qualifications:

Knowledge of graduate development approaches and an understanding of our UK approach to graduate development

Ability to influence stakeholders at different levels of the business in order to inspire change and continuous improvement

Understanding of external graduate market, market salaries, market competitiveness, competitor activity

CIPD qualification/Bachelor's Degree or equivalent would be desirable but not essential

In this role you will be able to engage with and motivate graduates; you will also support key stakeholders and support implementation that achieves performance results. You will work collaboratively with others, in a multi team environment in developing solutions and managing business requirements.

Location: Various - Location for the role is flexible, but there is a requirement to work closely with the other SME roles within the Talent team so some travel will be required
