Freelance Quantity Surveyor

We are currently seeking a Senior QS, reporting to a Project Commercial Manager. The role will be predominantly based in Bristol but may require occasional visits to Head office in Cornwall and HPC for meetings (Nb. these will be minimal.) The role will be for approximately 9 months, depending on circumstances.

The project entails some all piling and superstructure work, as well as feeding Hinkley Point C with aggregate. NEC knowledge is essential, working on a Civil Engineering project in the region of GBP50 million in value.

Specific requirements include:-

- A good knowledge of the NEC form of Contract.
- Supporting the commercial and contractual arrangements
- Monitor & assess project progress on a monthly basis liaising with the Project Planner and identifying delays.
- Reviewing the Works information and assessing change.
- Preparation of Early Warnings in conjunction with the Project Management Team.
- Pricing and demonstrating Compensation Events.
- Liaising with the Costain Commercial Team as required
- Supervision/Mentoring of Assistant QS also based on site.
- Supporting as required by Commercial Manager
- Management of Subcontractor accounts
- Preparation of Internal Cost and value reporting and reconciliation
- Preparation of monthly valuations.
- Manage and maximise cash flow to meet company standards and budgets
- Preparation of Final Accounts

This is a key role calling for strong communication and organisational skills.
