ILS Engineer - Spares Modelling
Would you like to work on supportability analysis for the initial provisioning of spares and Support & Test Equipment (S&TE) for the Type 26 Programme? We currently have a vacancy for an ILS Engineer - Spares Modelling at our site in either Portsmouth, Filton or Scotstoun.
As an ILS Engineer - Spares Modelling, you will be responsible for analysing supplier data and recommendations relating to equipment spares and S&TE, leading to the development of the initial provisioning list. As part of that process, spares modelling using specialist software will be required in order to provide an optimised list of ranged and scaled spares to ensure appropriate equipment availability throughout the life of the ship.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to work on one of the largest, most complex, and high profile engineering programmes in the country.
Your main responsibilities as an ILS Engineer - Spares Modelling will involve:
Producing and maintaining the initial provisioning lists and supporting evidence
Producing spares modelling and ranging and scaling activities within the scope of the contract requirements in close liaison with all work streams
Developing of NATO Codification activities within the scope of the contract requirements in close liaison with all work streams
Identifying potential risks to the supplier programme/content and provide potential remedial actions
Implementing continuous improvement opportunities to reduce costs and enhance the effectiveness of both supply support activities and the overall project
Producing spares reports that validate the level of recommended spares
Producing support and test equipment reports that validate the level of recommended support and test equipment
Identifying packaging, handling, storage and transportation requirements relating to spares and support and test equipment
Your skills and qualifications as an ILS Engineer - Spares Modelling:
Essential:
HNC/HND or equivalent qualification or experience in an engineering discipline
Understanding and experience of ILS activities
Experience in spares modelling, ranging and scaling or spares management
Desirable:
Experience in the marine/ship building industry
