LOCATION: Shrewsbury, Shropshire

JOB TITLE: Housing Manager

SALARY & BENEFITS: GBP34,000 - GBP38,000

WORKING HOURS: Full Time - 37.5 hours per week

THE COMPANY: Our client is a small housing association in Shropshire providing high quality, fully managed and self-contained accommodation for vulnerable adults with mental ill- health. Our client is currently moving to a new and exciting time in their development and to enable this they are seeking a full-time Housing Manager.


THE ROLE: The successful candidate will have a wide remit including the strategic development of the organisation, operational (day to day) service delivery, ensuring effective governance and financial management. Currently our client has a small portfolio of properties based in Shrewsbury, Craven Arms and Bridgnorth. They have ambitious plans to grow and develop the property portfolio and the services they offer and this role will be critical to the achievement of this.


You will work collaboratively with partners and stakeholders to ensure residents have the time and space to:
  • Plan their future
  • Prepare for or rehabilitate to independent living
  • Take up new hobbies and leisure activities
  • Re-train or return to education or employment
  • Develop confidence to enable an independent and fulfilling life in the community

THE CANDIDATE: To meet this challenge, you will need a broad and varied experience of strategic development, operational management, managing change, and a strong track record of achievement. Our client has an open mind about the exact mix of experience required, and from which sectors but you will need to share their passion for helping people and communities, driving efficiencies, and producing high quality homes and services.


This is a very hands-on role so will suit someone that can lead by example; who isn't afraid to get stuck in and assist where necessary.


Key experience essential for the role:
  • Previous Housing Manager experience within this sector
  • Solid housing and property management skills
  • Patient attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.
