Principal purpose of position
The Area Sales Executive is responsible for selling our products, working on purely construction projects with Main Contractors and Architects of which full product training is provided.

The role involves visiting and liaising with key decision makes and buyers in Main Contractors to take projects from quotation stage through to order. Your key role is to present the value and benefits of the product and service offering, and proactively find ways to accelerate the buying decision.

It is important for the candidate to be placed geographically close to London although presence in the head office in Cheshire would be required, initially weekly, but reducing to monthly as experience develops.

Skills

- Specification and construction sales.
- Ability to successfully secure sub-contract orders ranging in size from £50k to £300k typically.
- Negotiating with the winning contractor.
- Able to foster relationships with consultants and contractors.
- Strong experience with construction industry and Main Contractors will be essential to the candidate
- Field sales experience is vital.
- You must be instantly engaging.
- Credible.
- The ability to understand technical drawings is essential.
- The ability to carefully record contact with customers and report to management is essential
- You will be driven and have a real sales flair.
- Ability to work closely with an office based Sales Support Person

Qualifications and Experience:
- Candidates will be considered for interviews subject to results of an online screening assessment
- Must have a track record in Construction industry sales
- Capable of generating new business relationships.
- Genuine desire to work in sales and have at least 1 years' experience working within a similar industry.
- Self-driven, determined and competitive.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Managing projects from concept to completion utilising internal support.
- You will be focusing on key/major projects.
- Attending regular meetings. (typically, via GTM)
- Actively promote our products to the industry and other applicable persons within the designated sales territory.
- Cultivate new relationships and develop/enhance existing relationships to increase our brand awareness in the market.

- Make direct sales calls daily.
- Build strong relationships.
- Ensure accurate distribution of information and materials to the market.
- Follow up all leads in order to maximise sales opportunities.
- Evaluate and report sales and competition activity within the territory.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers and employees at all levels.
- Manage special projects as requested by the sales director.
