The Role
We have an opening for a 30 hour per week Single Point of Contact (SPOC) Assistant to join our team in Dorset. This position will involve supporting women, men and children experiencing domestic abuse.

You will respond to initial countywide enquires and help process client referrals to and through the service, working alongside those undertaking the assessments. Under direction and supervision you will assist with the allocation and matching of clients to our Support Workers and refuge provision. You will also work alongside the Support Workers and landlords in the resettlement of clients from the service.

Due to the nature of the work being a car driver with a car for work, as well as the ability to work evening and weekend hours as part of a rota is essential for this post.

About You
The ideal SPOC Assistant will have experience of working with people that have been the subject of domestic abuse. You will be warm, approachable and adopt a person-centred approach at all times, having the ability to remain calm in an emergency situation and act professionally.

The ideal SPOC Assistant will have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as good organisation practices to ensure all support paperwork is completed and referrals are processed and allocated appropriately and in a timely fashion. You should also have good IT skills and a sound understanding of how to use email, Microsoft Excel and Word packages.

Essential Requirements

As a SPOC Assistant you need to have:
* Experience of working with women, men and children who have been subject to domestic violence and abuse
* An understanding of best practice in relation to domestic violence and abuse including risk assessments (DASH RIC/MARAC)
* Knowledge of housing and welfare benefits
* Experience of working effectively in partnership with others
* Good IT skills, including experience of using email, Excel, and Word
* The ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and clients, which will include some evening and weekend working
* A full driving licence with access to a vehicle for work purposes and the willingness to travel across the service area
