We are working on behalf of a very successful Blackburn based organisation, whom through business expansion are seeking a Junior Underwriter. Your primary objective is to decide if a loan should be approved and handle all correspondents relating to the loan process.
The ideal candidate will be a detail oriented, critical thinker who is able to take initiative and work consultatively with others. This person will work efficiently and effectively to meet contracted turnaround times
Although direct experience isn't essential, you must have willingness and a desire to progress within Underwriting.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Carry out credit searches and ensure that accurate quotes are produced that are competitive to the customer, yet profitable for the company
• Collecting background information and assessments of risk
• Manage daily reports for senior management to track against funder targets
• Provide and communicate information to the sales team regarding deal maximisation
• Must be able to commit to working 1 Saturday per month
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Strategic thinking and decision-making skills
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work well in team-based environment
