The Role

Responsible for ensuring our IT strategy makes a real difference to our business and covers; Service Operations; Security; Data; Systems; and our key platforms of Salesforce and Atlas (Atlas is a self-built platform which both our clients and colleagues use to manage our services), you will ensure that your area capitalises on opportunities to enable the running, optimisation, and growth of our business.

As the senior 'go to' person for IT related requirements, you will have a deep understanding of IT service management, infrastructure, data and application management. The business will look to you as the expert for guidance and solutions and you will be adept at communicating these is a simple and compelling way. By effectively partnering with the business, you will seek out opportunities to add value to the business and quickly get people on board with these, due to your track record of delivering business benefits.

You will ensure the delivery of scalable business systems and IT infrastructure with clearly defined business engagement, ownership and benefit realisation and deploys sound financial and operational methods to deliver cost effective, reliable, agile and measurable services

With a customer and commercially focussed background, you will possess excellent stakeholder management skills at multiple levels. Whilst your leadership skills will ensure that you create a highly-engaged team who deliver for the business and can be relied upon to do the right thing.

Person Fit
We are planning to triple the size of our business over the next few years and we are looking for a commercially astute individual with outstanding people skills who can lead a team with pace in a changing environment and deliver for our clients and colleagues.

Atlas and Salesforce are integral parts of our business, so you will need to understand how the architecture works so you can optimise these to help delivery our strategic goals. As well as planning for the future and delivering quickly, you will of course be responsible for the entire IT department which includes; leadership and management; SOP's and policies; disaster recovery plans; the negotiation of and servicing of contracts and agreements; budgetary and reporting requirements; and systems management including development and redesign.

In our PE backed business, you will need to be results and value focused, delivering and adapting the IT strategy to ensure every aspect adds value to our business and your team behave in line with our brand values (professionals with personalities, we keep it simple and make it easy for our customers, we take the strain and deliver real value add so our customers can get on with what they do best - running their business). Customers in the context of our IT strategy includes both our clients and your internal customers.

So, if you want to empire build and micro-manage an IT team and spend a ton of money on projects that don't actually deliver in operational practice what they promise on a project plan, this role is not for you. However, if you believe that IT is an enabler to business success and you want your function to an integral part of that success due to their strategic, operational and solutions focused approach, then this could be the ideal role for you.

You will be part of a senior team that has your back. Together we will work through challenges and opportunities across our business devising efficient and effective solutions that deliver value. You will be comfortable juggling lots of plates and working interchangeably at a strategic, tactical and operational level.

Good judgement is key and you will know the difference between what projects and changes are business critical and which are the nice to have.
