Contract Length: 12 months
I am currently recruiting for a Paralegal to work in Bristol. The initial contract will be 12 months long with the chance of renewal. Rate GBP12 PAYE

HMRC are offering the opportunity to recent law graduates or those who have completed the graduate diploma in law to work on pre-litigation cases within Counter Avoidance Directorate which handles case work relating to tax avoidance schemes. The aim of the Team is to assist with the preparation of evidence to enable lawyers to defend decisions and ensure support the collection of due tax. The paralegal will work closely with experienced officers to support aspects of case preparation, the duties to include:
1. Drafting Witness Statements
2. Indexing and bundling documents;
3. Conducting Legal Research;
4. Drafting Instructions to Solicitors Office;
5. Drafting Instructions to Counsel;
6. Drafting Submissions to Solicitor's Office;
7. Drafting Legal Correspondence;
8. Drafting Notices;
9. Drafting Statement of Case;
10. Attending Tribunal with Counsel
Experience Required
Whilst experience is not required, the paralegal must have the ability to organise large volumes of material, identify missing documents, prioritise tasks and effectively communicate/share intelligence gathered with interested parties. The paralegal will work collaboratively in sharing knowledge of case issues with colleagues and with the legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a first paralegal role and for the paralegal to gain valuable practical experience in a case working environment.
