Test Analyst
Position Description
Be part of something rewarding. CGI's fastest growing Business Unit, Energy and Utilities, Telecoms (EUT) are currently looking to hire an experienced Test Analyst
This role sits within CGI's UK Smart Metering Implementation Programme. The users of this product will include UK energy market participants such as retail suppliers and distribution network operators.
This project is seeking an experienced test analyst to undertake test execution of the latest software release through the System Test Stage, the tests to be executed and associated test data have already been defined.
We are the Data Services Provider for the roll-out of 53 million smart gas and electricity meters in the UK.
Due to the sensitive nature of the project you will be required to go through a SC Security Clearance process. Your future duties and responsibilities
As part of the experienced Test team you will be engaging with users, architects and stakeholders to understand requirement and standards in order to agree test coverage. You will be required to prepare, maintain and execute manual test scripts following agreed test standards and processes.
If you like interaction with other team members and other technical teams this is the role for you. As part of the team you will have the opportunity to contribute to defect investigation, collaborating effectively with other resolver groups such as developers. You will also have the opportunity to perform peer reviews of your colleagues test scripts.
Working closely to standards and processes is important to us and will hope you have a similar outlook. You will be required to ensure that all specific standards exist for test coverage as well as ensuring all test coverage requirements are documented.
Another part of you role will be to produce test scenarios and test specifications, ensuring that they are fit for purpose and are appropriate to test coverage requirements, then obtain sign-off, following agreed standards and processes. Required qualifications to be successful in this role
You must be an experienced tester and have an ISTQB foundation level qualification to join our team. It is required that you have the ability to understand use cases, an ability to log test execution results and defects in a comprehensive manner and are able to work effectively with designers and developers in resolving these defects Experience of using HP ALM/ Quality Centre/Test Director is highly desirable as we use this software for a large part of our work.
