Supply Chain Planner (Logistics) GBP27,000 + Overtime (Weekend work available)

Monday to Friday, Morning Shift 6am to 2:15pm & Afternoon Shift 2pm to 12:30am (Friday off)

Supply Chain Planner required for highly reputable worldwide manufacturing company. This is a new position and will suit those looking for a role where you can make it your own and bring ideas.

The successful candidate will have experience working within a supply chain role or a similar position. You have a solid understanding of forecasting and replenishment processes. The company use an MRP system so you must be confident using this system. Those with experience of lean manufacturing and continuous experience will be a strong advantage.

This role is managing internal supply chain. All suppliers are already in place, the successful candidate will be responsible for production forecasting and documentation. You will use a MRP system, monitoring materials purchasing and rescheduling working in conjunction with the Sales, Production teams and customer demand. Using the MRP system you will provide accurate analysis of customer demand/materials. You will minimise stock levels whilst maintaining the supply to production as well as managing the warehouse inventory and stocks. As a supply chain planner you will be responsible for driving down purchasing and distribution costs and monitoring the quality standards of raw materials.

The role:

* Work closely within operations to ensure that materials are available to satisfy production demands.

* Build and maintain forecasts for core lines focusing on stock requirements in order to maintain product availability in accordance with supplier lead-times.

* Reviewing sales demand and qualifying additional customer forecast demands communicating with the purchasing team customer and production demand requirements effectively to suppliers in order to ensure deliveries meet requirements.

* Management of all materials, you will oversee all buying and store functions.

* You will be responsible for driving down purchasing and distribution costs.

* Developing long term relationships with suppliers.

The person:

* Experience in supply chain planning.

* From ANY Engineering/Manufacturing background.

* Knowledge of MRP systems.

* Experience of working closely with operations/production departments.

* Commercial awareness
