Head of Science
Expanding Academy
Suffolk
GBP22,467 - GBP38,250
September start
We are assisting a school who are in the midst of a period of transformation due to the school having recently agreed to join a newly formed Multi Academy Trust.
The school has taken this decision despite of the fact that in their most recent Ofsted report they were adjudged to be a "Good" school. This is due to the fact that they understand the difficulties that schools are facing in this increasingly challenging educational landscape and are aware that by sharing these challenges, both they and the other schools involved in the Trust will be able to develop and progress.
The school will however continue to keep learning at the heart of everything they do and being part of a trust will assist them in making continual improvements in teaching and learning.
The school are recruiting a skilled and experienced Head of Science who can teach to Key Stages 3 and 4 students. You should be passionate about teaching and creating an imaginative learning experience for your students. You should also hold experience of leading staff and should be able to utilise different management styles. You will be working in a friendly and supportive environment, where you will have the opportunity to be an individual, but can also work as part of a team. You will also have excellent continuous personal development (CPD) opportunities.
You as the successful applicant will have:
* A proven track record teaching Science in the National Curriculum
* Ambition, drive and be an outstanding classroom practitioner with a clear understanding of teaching and learning
* Experience teaching Science across secondary year groups from Key Stages 3 - 4
* Outstanding behaviour management skills
* Strong leadership skills and a willingness to work hard to incorporate changes to the school
To apply and for further information, please contact Paul Madigan at Capita Education Resourcing on (Apply online only)/(Apply online only).
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of young people. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced criminal records check (DBS)
For some posts, we are receiving large volumes of applications, on these occasions we may close the post early, therefore you are strongly advised to submit your application as soon as possible
