Business Manager - Surface Ships

Job Description

We offer a broad range of technical, project management and enterprise optimisation services to a wide customer base within the marine sector. We are delivering across the acquisition lifecycle for the Royal Navy, wider naval industry and for the commercial marine sector. We are looking for an ambitious, self-motivated Business Manager who wants to join an established team to help us maintain strong growth by establishing new clients in the UK and worldwide.

The role is summarised below;

Contribute to the strategy of the business and own elements of the Sector 5 year plan;
Influence the development of our services towards the needs of the market;
Build, develop and maintain a network of clients;
Identify, characterise and capture opportunities to deliver the business;
Support internal delivery and maintain profitability across a portfolio of projects.

Requirements

You will ideally have engineering experience or background and will have applied these skills while working for a consultancy or services provider within a relevant market. A proven business development background is preferred.

More explicitly the successful candidate will have the following attributes;
Demonstrable technical experience in the Surface Ships/MOD/Defence and Commercial Marine domains;
Strong stakeholder management skills with an established network of contacts within the client community;
An excellent track record of Business Development, client acquisition and account management;
Experience of market and capture planning, bid strategy development and a demonstrable track record of winning competitive work;
Be commercially aware and capable of assisting with bids and projects;
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate individuals and teams across the business.

Due to the nature of the role there will be a requirement for the successful candidate to be security cleared.
