The client
Our client is a diverse business that services clients across the Automotive, Off road, Aerospace, Defence and Rail Industry. Having recently been taken over, there is renewed investment in the site and an uptake of workload across its multiple business functions.
We are currently looking for a Senior Performance and Economy Engineer to join the team.
Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the Senior Performance and Economy Engineer will revolve around:
?? Ensure all Health, Safety and Quality procedures have been adhered to
?? Run customer engine test programs with high levels of efficiency
?? Generate engine installation packs and schematics for accurate test bed setups
?? Identify engine faults and lead effective solutions
?? Processing and validation of engine test data to a high standard
?? Analysing and presenting data and results to customers and peers
?? Generate test reports tailored to specific customer requirements
?? Provide technical support to customers and business development
?? Track project efficiency and maintain project related invoicing
?? Deliver 'Performance & Economy' development projects for a variety of customers
?? Work well within a team environment
?? Develop initiatives to reduce waste and optimise efficiency
?? Develop best working practises and provide training to others
Required Experience & qualifications
The ideal candidate for the role of Senior Performance and Economy Engineer will have an Automotive/Mechanical Engineering degree or HNC plus relevant experience. You will have proven working experience in an Automotive Engineering discipline, as well as involvement with engine development testing techniques and methodologies. The applicant will need a strong understanding of gasoline and diesel engine mechanical fundamentals, and have proven exposure to gasoline and diesel ECM controls. Experience in AVL PUMA, Horiba STARS, Concerto, Inca and Indicom are a role requirement.
As Senior Performance and Economy Engineer you will have excellent project management and organisational skills. You will have the ability to communicate at all levels, and have a high level of technical competence with a methodical approach. A strong background in the use of engine test cell equipment software including emissions measurement, combustion analysis and calibration tools is essential. Skills in electronic, electrical and mechanical engine diagnostics and IT, especially MS Excel, are necessary.
