Management Accountant

Who will I be working with?
The Cake Crew is the UK's largest independent manufacturer of private label and own brand cupcakes, supplying a variety of bakery products into major supermarkets, independent retailers and wholesalers. The award winning business has been rapidly expanding due to customer demand and has a workforce in excess of 240 personnel based from sites in North Wales and Cheshire. The Cake Crew continue to make significant investments into the development of employees and infrastructure to build upon the success, with recognition and reward high on the agenda.
So, what will the role of Management Accountant entail?
Reporting directly to the Finance Director and working alongside the wider finance and site management teams, as the Management Accountant your duties and responsibilities will include although not be limited to:
- Controlling profit and loss processes, controls, margin analysis and reporting
- Focusing on profitability by SKU, bill of materials, standard costing and variance analysis
- Implementing and rolling out ERP systems and stock control, and formalising business process management
- Monitoring and producing weekly and monthly KPI reports
- Overseeing and validating weekly and monthly stock counts onto the Navision system
- Supporting month-end close, including accruals and prepayments
- Having an active input into new product development processes, focusing on profitability and product costings
- Managing the IT systems implementation, support and training
- Assisting in developing, updating and monitoring budgets
What will I need to be considered for this Management Accountant vacancy?
- Proven experience in cost accounting, reporting and variance analysis within a manufacturing business environment
- Either an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification or part qualification, although alternative qualifications will alsobe considered
- Ability to support a cross-functional factory management team
- Ability to work with multiple IT systems, including Microsoft Office and Navision
- Excellent Excel skills, including pivot tables, graphs and data analysis
- Superb prioritisation skills and ability to meet agreed timescales
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and a keen eye for detail
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and using own initiative with minimal supervision
Experience with Navision and implementing ERP systems are desirable, although not essential.
