The Company and the Role:
The Company is an independently owned Hampshire based hospitality Group which comprises some of Hampshire's most vibrant restaurants and bars. Which are born from a unique and prestigious heritage of the leading independent leisure group in Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire.
The Company is looking for a talented Sous Chef with flair and ambition, at one of their most successful and busy restaurants in Southampton, who can develop and inspire their team to produce great results. The position is permanent.
Each venue has their own unique concept twist and target market, so this is a great opportunity to learn and develop in one of their vibrant and busiest venues, as well as gaining more knowledge and experience, through career development plans and progression.
As seasonal trading picks up in both the consumer market and corporate functions, the Company is looking to bring in a new and talented Chef. This gives you a unique opportunity to get your foot in the door with a progressive and growing business.

Key Features of the Role:
Able to create and define your own menu for the restaurant customers as well as for the corporate events that are on a regular basis, with a view to build your reputation and culinary distinction and trend. As all food is prepared on site using the best ingredients that are in season, local where possible using carefully sourced suppliers.
You will assist and deputise for the Head Chef and assist them in developing the best team. As team work is required throughout the whole group and one of their core principles. As a team, you will help influence an effective kitchen and help achieve a good gross profit and efficient ordering / stock control.
Working 48 hours per week, shift patterns shared across Monday to Sunday, 10:30 - 14:00, 18:00 - 22:30, 14:00 - Close. Average hours per week are currently 42.
Organisational skills and the ability to thrive is a very busy restaurant where our client's reputation for consistently preparing cooking and presenting our dishes to the right quality is second to none.
As Sous Chef, you will set the highest standards of food quality, consistency and hygiene, as you will be working in very busy kitchen environment, needing you to demonstrate good attention to detail.

Knowledge and Skills:
The Company is looking for that special talent whose ethos is based on the fact that if you have the ingredients and the time then nothing should be off the menu to a customer. Not just what is on the menu is all that is served.
This opportunity will suit an experienced and talented Senior CDP or Sous Chef that wants to make that break into relaxed dining, as well as corporate dining and prestigious events.
You must have a strong chef background, having developed your career and experience through career tenure.

What's on Offer?
Basic salary up to GBP26,000 based on experience levels, competency and tenure of employment plus tips.
Basic salary review after probation review and on-going.

48 hour contracted hours of work per week.
