Do you have experience in introducing improvements or new ways of working? Would you like the opportunity to be part of a digital strategy to work electronically, and reduce our use of paper within the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA)?

This role is based within the Knowledge and Information Management Programme (KIM) who will design and implement an agency wide solution to improve content management, document and records management and collaboration within MCA.

The role has ownership of the full implementation life-cycle within their assigned Directorate (including planning, communications, analysis, testing, migration, training and go-live), whilst also acting as the lead change/business analyst.

Role Responsibilities:

• Support and conduct business analysis/information gathering. For example: collect information on business activities and related document inputs and outputs, filing and finding needs, intranet and extranet publishing and content needs, information handling and collaboration needs, issues and requirements
• Collect information and create the required documentation for document management and collaboration, intranet and extranet
• Produce the plan and approach for; network drive migration, training plan, communications plan, test/user acceptance plan
• Deliver training and go-live support
• Attend project meetings, produce weekly reports, report risks and issues
• Lead Directorate specific meetings and communications

Essential Requirements:

• Experience of planning and co-ordinating tasks, business activities or workstreams as part of a small project or business as usual
• Experience of running workshops
• Experience of introducing improvements or new solutions/ways of working
• Some experience in information management and organisation (e.g. fileplans, intranets, databases, paper records/archives) would also be desirable

The role will involve some travel to other MCA sites at key stages of the project, including overnight stays. A valid driving licence would be desirable.

The post is offered on a Fixed Term contract for 18 months with a possibility of permanency.
