Our client is an innovative, modern arms length housing organisation (ALMO), created in October 2005 employing approximately 540 staff and managing 11,500 properties across the borough of Stockport. They are recognised as a Sunday Times Top 100 ‘Best Places to work in the Public Sector’ employer, have been awarded Investors in People (Gold) status and are also thrilled to have been named UK’s Top Landlord after winning the 24Housing magazine vote.

As a Rent Recovery Officer with them, you will support the organisation to maximise rental and service charge income by ensuring that rent and service charges are collected for a designated patch of properties and that any arrears are recovered quickly and efficiently.

Taking appropriate action within legislation, policies and procedures to minimise arrears, you must maximise tenant incomes and support customers to be financially responsible (especially those who are vulnerable or difficult to engage with) whilst proactively providing early intervention to minimise crisis situations.

You will also identify the right support to manage and sustain tenancies effectively, build effective working relationships with other teams to ensure that support provided to tenants is maximised and keep up to date with current legislation.

With a good standard of education and excellent customer service skills, you will bring a wealth of experience of working in a Housing, Welfare Benefit or Income Collection related role and be capable of communicating effectively in an easy to understand, jargon-free way. With good IT skills, you must be able to interview customers in the office, at their home or over the telephone and be willing to carry out lone visits to customers as this is an essential part of the role. Due to the nature of the role, a valid current driving licence and access to a car is essential.

Closing date for applications: 27th April 2017

Interview date: 3rd May 2017
