More about the role
As a Safety and Environment Officer, you will be responsible for supporting Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives across the all areas of the business. As a waste electrical recycler dealing with both hazardous and non-hazardous waste, the level of H&S risk in high so compliance in this area is crucial to the business. This is a great opportunity for someone keen to join a growing team and gain experience in the recycling sector and improve their skills. Internal and external training will be provided.
Here's what you can expect to be doing
- Ensuring Incidents are reported and investigated
- Production of Key Performance Indicators
- Supporting Health, Safety and Environmental Initiatives across all areas of the business
- Auditing, analysing and reporting environmental issues to Compliance Manager and Health and Safety manager;
- Ensure Suitable and Sufficient Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work are produced and incorporated across the company
- Communications with Stake Holders
- Creation and implementation of new modified company procedures and processes ensuring compliance with legislation;
- Keeping up to date with UK, EU and international regulation and legislation;
- Promoting and raising awareness, at all levels of the organization, of the impact of Environmental, Health and Safety issues;
- Developing and improving current management systems;
- Helping to train staff at all levels in Environmental, Health and Safety issues and responsibilities within their job roles;
- Being involved in setting targets, and developing plans to meet those targets and oversee their delivery
