Timber Mill Labourer - Immediate Start £6-£8 per hour - Royal Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire

The Role

The Timber Yard Operative will work in the sawmill and wood machining factory doing a variety of jobs including loading / unloading machines / stacking wood / preparing orders for despatch. Basic training will be given with potential for further training in wood machining and timber grading.

Normal hours are: 8.00 am to 4.45 pm. Mon to Thursday, 8.00 am to 3.45 pm. Friday

The Company

Our client is a well-established family business and one of the largest British hardwood sawmills in the country, specialising in cutting and manufacturing native grown timbers including English oak, sweet chestnut, ash, sycamore and larch. With log-converting bandmills, computer-controlled drying kilns and well-equipped machining facilities, they process and sell hardwoods and softwoods for a wide range of uses to a client base including architects, builders, joiners, furniture makers, timber framers and the general public.

The Person

No experience necessary, but you must be responsible, hardworking and have a can-do attitude. Reasonable numeracy and literacy are required and you will need your own transport. Basic training will be given with potential for further training in wood machining and timber grading.
