The Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen within MBDA's Customer Support & Services (CSS) organisation for a Technical Author to write technical documentation in Standard Generalised Mark-up Language (SGML), Extensible Mark-up Language (XML) and traditional formats for the Company's products in accordance with individual contractual requirements, to enable safe and effective operation and repair of the equipment. The role covers the whole product lifecycle through design, development and in-service support.

The Role

- To write technical documentation in either Standard Generalised Mark-up Language (SGML), Extensible Mark-up Language (XML) or traditional formats for the Company's products in accordance with individual contractual requirements, to enable safe and effective operation and repair of the equipment. The role covers the whole product lifecycle through design, development and in-service support.
- Liaising with, assisting, and working with ILS engineers, Training Instructors and Field Support Engineers (FSEs) in developing Maintenance Task Analysis.
- Supporting functional improvement activities at both a national and international level.
- There will also be opportunities to work with our international colleagues on some of our multinational projects.

What are we looking for?

- Experience in technical authoring is essential in particular S1000D
- Experience in SGML and XML formats
- You need to be able to work with a variety of different types of people and maintain a willing, helpful attitude and a calm professional manner, even when things are changed at the last minute.
- Recognised and proven Customer relationship experience
- Provide technical expertise in ensuring design teams have a clear understanding of the publication development and upkeep process
- Provide Support to projects in all phases of the life cycle.
- Deliver, or assist in the delivery of technical publications to the highest quality, on time and on cost.
- Strong interpersonal skills for customer and industrial partners' interaction.
- Sound knowledge of the customer environment, structure and processes
- Strong resilience
- Good communicator
- Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK and overseas.
