Job title: Conference & Banqueting Manager

Salary: Up to 28,000 GBP

Location: Weybridge, Surrey

Type of contract: Permanent

Workplace description: One of the finest 4-star hotels in Surrey, set amidst the splendour of manicured gardens, this hotel offers the best of breathtaking scenery and fine facilities. Only a 20 minute drive from London Heathrow airport, the hotel is a popular choice for relaxing getaways, business and weddings.

Main duties and responsibilities: Be responsible for high levels of hygiene control and health and safety throughout the venue
Take responsibility for serving food and beverage for private dining, meetings and events and the set up and organisation of the room.
Ensure that all standards are met with attention to detail and to systematically review and update SOP manuals
To lead, coach and delegate a team of approximately 10 staff
Ensure that all team members are fully trained on Health and Safety, Food Safety and First Aid
To plan, organise and deliver optimum use of C&B facilities
To maintain accurate control of department equipment and inventory of all stock and supplies
Train, develop and appraise team members systematically and help them formulate individual learning plans
Communicate the department business issues clearly and concisely to other departments
Streamline communication between Sales, C&B and other relevant department

Essential criteria: Be immaculately presented with outstanding communication skills and have a keen eye for detail.
Be a natural leader who is highly organised and has a cool and calm persona when under pressure
Be financially adept, with the ability to deliver to deadlines
Must be financially astute and be able to explain the department Profit and Loss sheet on a regular basis.
Have a good understanding of motivation and training techniques
Be able to manage team members fairly and consistently
Be highly customer focused, have excellent communication skills and have the ability to manage the team effectively
Must be well presented, with fantastic communication skills and strong personality, time management and planning must be impeccable.
Be able to manage systems and processes within the department
Have the ability to implement and maintain policies and procedures
Health and Safety Orientated
